Growing importance of wireless communication systems forces reduction power consumption the designed integrated circuits. The paper focuses on minimization in a digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) that can be employed as GPS/Galileo receiver. new hybrid architecture DCO combines good phase noise performance Colpitts and relaxed startup conditions cross-coupled differential pair oscillator. proposed generates quadrature signal current reused frequency divider. Such solution allows dissipated to reduced. has been implemented 110 nm CMOS technology. It output range from 1.52 GHz 1.6 consumes 1.1 mW 1.5 V supply voltage. measured equals −116 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset 1.575 signal.
